That was fast reading... Are you sure you did any revision in the past few days?? Frankly I think it's unbelievable; I've only read 80 pages of Nemesis and in the same time you've read nearly 5 books. I mean do you actually sleep or anything?

Sleep is for the weak Well... I think I shall finish Chapter War, then do some painting.... Any Space Marine books you recommend?

I loved Storm of Iron, which has the same bad guy as Dead Sky, Black Sun; Honsou the Iron Warrior warsmith. Dark Apostle, by Antony Reynolds is great (If you like millions of elysians dying per page). Book 2 - Dark Disciple features Dark Eldar as well as the Word Bearer protagonists. Book 3 - Dark creed, I haven't read yet..
The thing I loved about Antony Reynolds's depiction of the csms is the awesome dialogue.
Like.
CSM A - You are ugly and weak. I will kill you with the back of my hand, you pathetic slug!
CSM B - How dare you! I will eat your geneseed with fava beans while bathing in your blood, you reptile!
It's just much more hilarious than all this Horus Heresy "we must follow Erebus!" business..

Alright then, I'll have a look for dark apostle... Right after I finish Salamander ;D

In the book I'm reading - Nemesis, by James Swallow , I've learned that there are 2 other branches of the Imperial Assassins other than Eversor, Callidus, Vindicare and Culexus.
They're called Vanus (the infocytes or information gatherers), and Venenum (poisoners). I'm intriugued to find out what happens to them. Still haven't read into it very far.

Information gathering assassins?
I still haven't read more of Salamander yet, I reinstalled minecraft and it is devouring my spare time.

They just advise other assassins, giving information about the target, I guess. I'm wondering why these 2 factions disappeared, or even if they have disappeared. They might just be hiding..

Well, I would have thought there are enough imperial spies to make the need for an entire assassin order for collection information (instead of killing) to make it unnecessary for said assassins...

They are a bit of a dead-end. What's worse is that the one Vanus agent so far in the book is a real dweeb. He's only been out on the field once before and that was because of a plane crash. They seem to be hidden on spaceships or in bases mostly, rather than being field agents like other assassins.

That would make sense... It's harder to send the information you have gathered to your superiors if you are dead...

The Eversor assassin is an excellent character; a one-man army!

The Eversor assassin is an excellent character; a one-man army! I thought that was their job? Anyway I have almost finished Salamander... Correction: Finished Salamander just then... Improved towards the end...

Inquisition Wars and Eisenhorn are also essential reading for all 40k fans. I'm thinking about getting the Space Marine reprint and Farseer from the print on demand service at the black library site..

Who was your favourite Soul Drinker, by the way? Mine was Tellos, who would make an excellent renegade leader for a 40k army..

I think it would have to be Captain Luko... Such a brilliant leader...
I just realised, Heldane from the Eisenhorn book is in one of the Gaunt's Ghosts books...

Oh yeah! Also Ravenor has a cameo, but when he's still young and spritely. (Ravenor series is also a must read, but a lot less essential than Eisenhorn)

What we could do is to make a *Spoilers* thread where we can discuss Eisenhorn? If others agree. And have you finished all 3 books yet?

Actually since you've read Soul Drinkers and Chapter War I'll start the BL book spoiler discussion ball rolling with a thread about everybody's favourite purple mutant marines...

My book - Nemesis - is getting interesting. So many assassins and a special chaos assassin has manifested as well. Can't wait for the final action scenes.

Nemesis? That is part of the Horus Heresy series right?
Just read Chris Roberson's 'Sons of Dorn'. Inspiring.

So that's what got you painting the 'Fists.
Yes. Nemesis is far into the H.H. series, but I've still got loads more to read to be fully up to date. Interestingly there was a bit of a cameo appearance by Rogal Dorn, who is busy building the defences on Terra for the Imperial Palace.
