www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?t=16104&highlight=hrudA thread from the BoLS lounge. Will the Hrud feature as a 6th edition race, like how the Tau were introduced as a new race, back in the beginning of 3rd.. ? Your opinions? Is it all one big hoax, will you take this rumour with a grain of salt? I for one would love to see new xenos armies. Edit : actually the rumour is from warseer, so this is a third hand rumour...

I think they wont be a new army seeing as they are little mentioned in the fluff and the fact that its like impossible to look directly at them or something like that....

I think they wont be a new army seeing as they are little mentioned in the fluff and the fact that its like impossible to look directly at them or something like that.... I don't know. The avatar, c'tan gods and other things have all been represented. Just because you can't look at them doesn't mean they can't have models representing them. They'll figure something out. I mean it's not like their rules would apply to painters and modelers. Otherwise painting and modeling them would be impossible. I wouldn't mind seeing the hrud honestly. Another xeno race or race aligned with chaos or evil would be nice. Interesting that these guys sound like good guys. I suppose i thought of them like skaven and swarms and such sound kind of evil. I could see it though but do they have the numbers and power to contend with other races? Well i suppose we do have the tau. This is just a rumor though. They were talking about the demiurg. What are those guys like? Ok i saw the entry on hrud in lexicanum and i gotta say they sound awesome and fairly formidable. The plasma musket for assassinations sounds particularly awesome. Their innate abilities as a species sounds pretty cool too. How would the aging, distortion of images and poisons come into effect? Also you gotta wonder for a group that can seemingly fit into tight spaces they could probably fit a shitload of hrud in a small transport. It's like a freaking clown car with those guys. They also seem to share the same gods as the eldar and possibly the orks.

Hah! Well they could make the model look realy ugly, so you can't look at it without vomiting uncontrollably.
Actually Hrud used to be labelled Space Skaven, but the pic in the old 3rd or 4th ed rulebook made them look different.

I have the 4th edition 40k rulebook and i'm pretty sure the hrud aren't pictured in there but i could be wrong. Funny how the editions seem to go by more quickly then i once thought. I always thought the life on each edition was about 5 years or at least for new codexes and army books.

It must be the third ed one then. They're in the xenology book (which is very expensive now) or on the Lexicanum site.

Well hey i wouldn't mind playing them but they sound pretty nasty. Their rules sounds more nasty than a lot of other races. I suppose instead of a special rule you can give them some inv. saves so that it'd represent the difficulty of hitting them or the night fighting type rules so an enemy needs to roll to see if they can see them before they can shoot them. I figure something like wraiths or something like stealth suits and grey knights.

If Hrud or any "NEW" new alien race comes out in 6th ed, it may rekindle my desire to collect/play warhammer
