www.beastsofwar.com/Most of the models look alright. The flayed ones are kind of meh. The deathmarks however look pretty bad ass for the most part.

Thanks for that, FKM. I was totally unaware of these pics.
I like that new transport ship; it's slightly reminiscent of a DE raider, only with necrons hanging off it like jackets in a cupboard. The new flayed ones look like a vast improvement. And all plastic.
I reckon now the whole delaying the sisters plastic kits from going into production was to release this lot first. Both sisters and necrons needed a whole range revamp - a la DE - but the sisters stuff had higher probability of market fail, whereas the new Necron stuff WILL sell like hot cakes.
They look slightly different. Less terminator and more like mechanical sorcerors.

The death marks are by far my favorite. The cyclopean snipers just really works i think. Oh well i suppose necrons really needed a boost anyway. The only issue i have is with a slowly advancing unstoppable horde you'd think snipers would feel a bit weird. However i suppose it works just fine. Their last codex was fairly old anyway. It's too bad they're going to fuck up the previous lore.

Best to wait and see how the stats and weapons pan out. We have no idea what most of these new units do anyway. I think they did lower immortals down to toughness 4 and they gave normal necrons a +4 armor save like we feared though. I don't get it. I always thought fully encased armor meant +3 armor saves. Whatever but i'm guessing ward is to blame. Meh to be fair i don't think his rules are too terribly stupid except with some of the stuff i've heard on blood angels.

I want them to bring back genestealer cults and the lost and the damned.

What would genestealer cults really have though? They should probably give options for gue'la guard, traitor guard and genestealer cults. Basically gue'la guard would have carapace armor, traitor guard would have some chaos gifts and probably be better at melee but have shittier vehicles and such and genestealer cults would be very infiltration heavy and maybe cause rending. The thing about each force is they're not supposed to be as good as normal guard except maybe gue'la guard. Genestealer cults are pretty insidious though. The traitor guard however usually suck except for a few notable exceptions. Blood pact is pretty awesome from what i hear. Most traitor regiments only have surprise and a bit of the element of chaos on their side. Other than that traitor regiments are even worse than normal guard regiments and don't have the support or logistical support of imperial regiments. Basically if imperial guard are the punching bags of 40k then traitor guard are usually the punching bags of imperial guard. Other than cultists i'd say traitor guard are the lowest of the low.

They have hybrids, bikers, not much armour. There is an unofficial fan-dex for download on BOLS. It's Okish, actually, only very armour light :/

I think gue'la auxiliaries would be interesting actually. Like i said the next guard book should really have traitor guard, gue'la auxiliaries and genestealer cults next time. Options for new guard factions would be awesome. Oh and we totally need new vostroyans and hopefully in plastic.

I've already seen it there and it is funny. To be honest the idea somebody had with them looking like they were coming out of a vending machine (hopefully it doesn't get stuck in the vending machine because i don't have another 6 quarters to get 2 necrons when i only wanted one ) or somewhat unassembled seemed awesome but the driver is a bit meh. Honestly it isn't too bad. It could've looked as stupid as the storm raven or dreadknight. The kit isn't too bad. The death marks are awesome. It's sad however that GW forced people to take the photos down but they'll be out again in a couple days anyway and i'm sure there's a few photos flying around somewhere.

Necron vending machines; that's pretty funny. It's like I just bought a packet of crisps from a million year old techno xeno machine.

I wouldn't exactly say techno xeno machine so much as a DJ piloting the vending machine to places and dropping necrons when he puts in the right amount of quarters for a snack of necrons.

A DJ Necron spinning a vinyl record. This has to happen. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is still Vinyl?

Maybe he's playing techno or metal (get it metal ok i'll go back in my corner). Of course if any faction plays death metal i think it'd be chaos but more the human and space marines rather than the actual daemons.

Only if they bring them in with gue'la and genestealer brood guard in the same codex. Maybe have a book for rebel and xeno guard forces.

FW already has Renegade lists, but they're annoyingly too similar to the IG codex.
No daemons, no DPs, they have mutants (meh mutants, though) and they even have chaos commissars..
*Pukes violently*
Nice conversion model bitz though.

Well we can't have that. Need some possessed guardsmen and possibly ogryns, nurgle ogryns, different chaos legions, no chaos commissars, etc. With tau guard we could use some tau weaponry and armor. Perhaps a more hit and run guard list to fit with the new tau.

It'd be easy enough to model tau sympathisers/ early 30k pre-Imperial cultures by combining the Tau and IG models and using counts as with the Tau Empire Codex. I might just do that, even... Me gusta the new necron skimmers...and I'd like to see The Lost and the Damned brought back. Trooper1974 said he's read rumours that LatD will be part of a renegades CSM codex, and there will be another 'legions' csm codex fro 6th edition next year.

Yeah but the problem is they'll probably have a shit profile. It'll be like traitor conscripts except probably worse.
I'd somehow doubt early 30k pre-imperial culture looks semi tau-like. In fact i'd imagine in the dark age of technology quite possibly a lot of humans looked like the techpriests and similar. They do after all use all the technology of the dark ages anyway.

There are some planets which have high-tech style troops, so why not skimmer transports and lost STCs. Not STDs, which are sexually transmitted diseases.

I've made similar jokes about the STC abbreviation. How about 'sexually transmitted constructs'? Wow getting your hands on them would possibly cause the largest orgy in the history of mankind. Even dark eldar and slaanesh might have a tear come to their eyes.
