Of all the stuff I bought at the release, I have painted these... Yea, its the same Archon, just with different weapons... I know, that is a crap quality photo, but all of my DE photos are from when I first started taking pictures of minis.... Should I go back and retake them? A quick comparison of my first test, and my actual scheme... I still have plenty to go, but I have stalled with my lack of black spray paint... these models are from quite a while ago, and I don't wish to sound ...arrogant I suppose, I have improved greatly with my painting, so when I paint some more, they will be far superior (hopefully)

I have a raider, but the spray can died when I was priming it So, with the Jackal as my inspiration, I have painted the start of my next warrior squad ;D And a quick comparison between old painting and new More to come...

I've been an inspiration to someone? I'm flattered.

They're looking great. Crisp highlights and the blue stands out. Looking forward to seeing your raider painted.

So am I... It will be a challenge I think, with such open expanses. I'm probably going to want to do something on the panels, but I don't know what yet. It would be easy if doing something imperial, just do some scripture and/or imperial iconography.
I don't know what to do yet... But it doesn't matter because I'm finishing my second squad before I do the raider ;D

How about vaguely-Chinese-looking calligraphy?

Hmmm... Maybe, I have a while to think about it, I wont be doing it for a while yet But that sounds like an idea, I will have to research this later. Thanks Jackal.

Pictures of daggers, swords, jagged blades.
Bizzarely when I used to have DE I painted them with light blue skin.. Which I've now copied on my bare headed, bronze armoured marine chapter : the Brazen Lizards.

Brazen Lizards hey... Well, I'm trying to think of colours for my wyches (I haven't bought them yet ) I might as well put that out there as well... Also, are there any tutorials floating around on how to paint hair?

Not to my knowledge, but it's fairly simple.
e.g. paint the hair red ------> wash (either ogryn flesh or devlan mud) -----> highlight (your choice of pink, yellow or orange) by drybrushing the lighter colour over. I might have a look through my stack of WDs to see if there are any tutorials.

Actually, Chem, I've left the blue skin on your Kabalites, and I might even paint up a few more like them. It all has to do with my explanation as to why the Dark Eldar haven't wiped themselves out yet.
It basically involves implanting Eldar embryos inside the wombs of alien slaves kept specifically for the purpose of bearing Dark Eldar babies, with the slight flaw that some alien DNA makes its way into the baby's genetic makeup, so they sometimes end up with minor characteristics of the aliens (usually skin tone. My explanation for the blue skin on some Dark Eldar is that they were born to Tau slaves). It's very much in the character of the Dark Eldar, and I think it's a better explanation than the whole cloning and resurrection thing.
Of course, the Trueborn are more particular about who bears their children, and so usually either work out deals with other Trueborn or simply use Eldar slaves for childbearing.

An interesting spin on your kabal's backstory. Taudar?

I like to think it has sufficient squick factor to be Dark Eldar-y.

That does sound a little Dark Eldar-y, now that I think about it...

It sounds pretty scary for all those poor pretty tau ladies, who get abducted and used in the dark eldar illegal, or maybe even legal sex trade..

Although an archon's word is law. If the archon doesn't want you to be drunk in his presence, for example then that's pretty much law.
If I had to define Dark Eldar society by D&D alignment mechanics then it would probably get put under the 'Chaotic Evil' banner. Even though chaotic implies no laws, archons would enforce some kind of law otherwise their warriors would get soft and decadent.

Good luck with the studies, Walrus. The earlier you start preparing, the better.
Neutral Evil Word Bearers... just no way! They are the epitomy of chaotic evil..

Are biology and chemisty still seperate lessons. I thought (at least in the UK) that the sciences had been merged into one lesson..

For us it is separate classes, so we can concentrate on specifics...
