Thanks, flamingkillamajig, you evil Straken/ Skaven combo..
plus having 'happy birthday cheminhaler' in flashing letters at the top is sweet, too.
Ah! Tomorrow off to GW to spend some b/day money. 2 cousins of mine might get me GW vouchers too. I need stuff to get my guard project to 7.5k. Finecast commissar lord for my 50 penal legion battallion suicide chem 'volunteers', and he needs a gas-mask. That's top of the list.

I think 3k of 40k is about enough for any faction. Going any higher is just going over the top. Fantasy however i still need to beef out my units and do a few things and i think 3.5k would be a good cut-off limit. I still really love my skaven and would rather not retire them like my guard pretty much are. Dark eldar look like plenty of fun though as my next army and it's nice that i'm here for that. I don't want to get out of fantasy though but 40k would be a nice change once in a while. Too bad i don't really have the money for both or even my skaven right now. I'll see what i can do and maybe i'll earn enough money to slowly get my dream army going. It also may cost another 20 or so USD to get the 2nd warpfire thrower. Considering points cost i could probably use the 5 pts cheaper poisoned wind mortar until then though. It's not like it's top of the list even if warpfire throwers are ridiculously effective. It's funny as i thought i'd make a really expensive slave army but price and lack of anything else like weapons teams really ruined that idea. Besides they don't have enough killing power and rely on locking things in combat and prevent enemy steadfast and then using the killing power of another unit to win combat and break the unit in one fell swoop. Unfortunately things probably wouldn't work that way so my good magic, warpfire throwers and death units army will have to do the job. Only thing i fear is the lack of good monster killing units in the army of death i'm making. I think giving my stormvermin poisoned attacks with spells would be more than enough though provided i can get it off. The brass orb and other initiative test abilities like cracks call would also be perfect though. The screaming bell itself may help with monster killing surprisingly (the d3 wounds to toughness 7 units and over). We'll just have to see as things go by. At least the skitterleap and brass orb combo is pretty much 100% likely. Grey seers can substitute a spell for skitterleap even if they don't roll it on the chart. All i really gotta do is throw the orb once it gets there provided skitterleap goes off and then we'll have one dead monster. Of course this is relying on no misfires, a small to no scatter, an initiative test and a successful skitterleap. Somehow i think skitterleap and no misfire will happen but should it be possible i will try placing the warlock 1" away from the monster so that it gets hit by the small blast in misfire and gets hurt too. Ugh cracks call and poisoned attacks seem much more reliable.

You can never have enough for 40k , what with titans and super heavies. Anyway the super heavy charts are fun when the baneblades start blowing up and killing everyone nearby.

At least super heavies are more affordable in plastic. My first resin one (Mars pattern - forge world & came with unique certificate) was twice as expensive. They discontinued them, unsurprisingly. I reckon mine will be worth a fortune if I paint it nice...

Walrus: Yes but blowing up a titan would give me an erection that lasts longer than 3 hours. I may need to call a doctor if that ever happens. Need some melta bomb guys.

It's fun for you because you get to take out all the troops that the idiot put next to his super heavies.
That's so gonna be me. It's unavoidable when you play horde IG backed up with super heavies....

cheminhaler: Yes well guardsmen are pretty expendable. Besides being there prevents deepstrikers from surrounding it and destroying it. Heroic invention is pretty gay against vehicles with those meltabombs.

Yeah, I know. Trickstick tried and failed with 2 squads of 5 man stormie squads, in the 2000 point game we played, to get my vehicles. I just charged infantry squads at them and killed them quickly and painlessly.. But it was very alarming

Hey it's what i'd do if my stormtroopers had meltaguns. I might use squads of 10 stormies though but that'd probably be too much of a point sink. You should totally get trickstick to join these forums btw if he hasn't already.

With all those dark lances it's probably slightly devastating. I like the idea of the eldar fire prism formation linking their crystals together.
It's all about the crystals!
