I am mostly facing MEQs, which is why I have all the low AP weapons. I thought it would be cool to run a Stormtrooper/Veteran Regiment thing, like an elite task force kinda.

It looks a bit too elite for my liking. But I play gunline guard, so I always take platoons over veterans. I have no beef at all with the maxed out big toy soldiers/ stormies. In fact why not just give the chimeras to the vet squads instead, lose the mortars and get something else, then deep-strike the stormies..
Just an idea.

What I like....Lots of stormtroopers and vets....what I don't like....lack of tanks....but then again I am a tankhead so my opinion on that does not count
Very creative but I agree with Chem on the mortar part.

7 vehicles, including transports isn't too shabby. I just think the chims should go to the vets; that's all.

My opinion is quite similar. Put the vets in the chimeras. You should deepstrike kasrkin with meltas and plasma guns behind tanks and such and if you have to cut the kasrkin down to 5 man squads to free up points. I hear mortars don't do well except in 3's (heavy weapons squads) so either drop em or combine em. Really i don't know if i should say get rid of them because it could kill lots of hordes from a distance esp. if they take cover in buildings or hide out of sight which snipers tend to do. I'd still probably drop the mortars though if you're fighting mostly MEQ. In my opinion sniper rifles aren't as good as you'd think so i'd drop them too. Give your vets the demolition loadout so you can use demo charges per squad with said chimeras and then possibly charge out of chimeras with the meltabombs and kill tanks. I'd prefer if you either gave the veterans all flamers or plasma guns but i suppose grenade launchers are ok. If you're going to be driving around flaming the shit out of everything in a protected vehicle then that's great. I suppose i see where you're trying to go with the stormtroopers in chimeras and it's a great idea taking the vulnerability of stormtroopers while keeping the firepower high but the thing is stormtroopers often don't kill as much as you'd expect and some of those chimeras will get blown up anyway killing your men and making them vulnerable. Even more disappointing is that you can't use FRFSRF orders on stormtroopers even though they have hot shot lasguns. A GW employee said no but i was hoping it'd work. Not really a fan of the hydra. I'd normally drop it for another banewolf.
It sounds like you can somewhat handle MEQ with your list but if they bunker down even with the banewolf they'll probably peg it so i think you need two and don't underestimate the strength of enemy tanks or artillery. What are you going to do if people start pegging you with whirlwind shots. Those annoy the hell out of me because i don't currently have plasma gun or melta kasrkin. When you have those you'll be able to destroy them pretty easily even if you have to deepstrike to get there. If people don't protect their artillery or tanks and move up then they will die to the meltagun kasrkin.
So yeah just do what i said and get a 2nd banewolf, drop the mortars, put the vets in chimeras, make the kasrkin 5 man squads and deep strike them and get those special weapons i mentioned and you should be good.
