So that's what got you painting the 'Fists. Actually, the painting got me to read the book I have up to the 10th book of the H.H series, haven't read any of them yet

What gets you about the first 3 books is that they're rehashed versions of the same story, from a different perspective. Then the whole series zooms on.
Nemesis is 13th in the series, and it's still nowhere near over. Personally I love the little glimpses we're given of the Imperial Army : the guard's predecessor. My fave H.H. novels so far are : Legion (about the Alpha Legion) and Fulgrim (about the Emperor's Children). Fulgrim is in fact one of the most superb 40k books ever written ; a real masterpiece.

Damnit, don't tell me that! I can't get my hands back on the series for another crew weeks

I'm sure you'll read something else in the meantime. Fulgrim is essential reading, though.
Have you read 'Inquisition War' omnibus by Ian Watson?

Nope, but I have a feeling I'm going to have a look for it...

It's even more addictive than Eisenhorn, I'm afraid, with the added benefit of a 50% chance of going mad.

A great read, and I suppose Halo does have some similarities to the Imperium, but really I know nothing about Halo.

I'm on book 14 of the Horus Heresy - the First Heretic, which is about the fall of the Word Bearers to Chaos. Nemesis - Book 13 was unbelievably action packed. It's interesting - Kor Phaeron ; the Colchisian captain of the 1st company terminator elites is actually a diminutive old man who is over 200 years old. He's not even a marine, just a gene-hanced human who'se done some juvenat surgery. The other proper marine captains also dislike him, but they love the chaplains.

Isn't Kor Phaeron the one who was really close to Lorgar but his body rejected the Augmentations?

Yeah, because he's too old to be implanted, not like a little pre-adolescence juvie that the muhreens usually go for, hence he's just a human with surgery. A 200 year old human priest at that. Still to imagine that he is captain of the terminator elite and he's the spiritual 'father figure' of Lorgar - it's not hard to see why the proper marines hate him so. Jealousy!

*Brain explodes* *BLEEP-BLEEP* *Reclone*
Revelations about the missing two primarchs of the 2nd and 11th legion in the novel 'First Heretic' - they did something very bad and were basically executed and expunged from the records. Also many of their recruits went to the 13th legion - i.e. the Ultramarines, so that explains why the ultras are so numerous.
Makes me want to create a lost legion...
What do you think the lost legions were?

So why don't you guys in Australia organise a meet-up? Or are the distances involved too far. Actually I have loads of relatives in Melbourne, but there's no way I could afford to come over there..

The distances are to extremely too far. You can fit the entire british isles into western Australia alone at least 6 times. I live on the mi west coast, and it is a 6 hour drive includin breaks to the state capital (which happens to be the mist secluded capital in the world). It can take a week to drive along the south coast...

What about budget flights? How much is it to travel to another part of Austalia (and back)?

The cheapest flight from my nearest interstate airport to the next state is at least $300

Holy moley!
That's a lot. You don't have an EasyJet or RyanAir equivalent then?
My fares for Mansfield were : £34 London to Mansfield (pre-booked)
£3.50 bus fare Mansfield to Nottingham (so cool ; it passed by Sherwood and I saw this pub called 'Robin Hood') £51.50 Nottinham to London (and it's lucky I had a 50 euro note on me, or I would never have gotten home; next time I'm pre-booking)

I would assume not, as I have no idea what those are...
Anyway, on topic. Tuesday on second last week of term (last tuesday), I get Eragon out from the school library. The librarian says something along the lines of 'if you can't finish it before the end of term, let me know'.
Challenge accepted.
This was at the end of the day, and I came back at Thursday lunch break with it finished. The look on thelibrarians face was priceless. I then picked up Eldest, the next in the series, and had it finished by Friday night. Today, I go to get Brisingr, just to spite her.

Fast reading as usual, Walrus. I'm still on story 2 of the HH collected short stories. God- they're boring so far. Let's hope the action picks up a bit; I need to stay awake on the train.
